Lana’i

Golfing on the island of Lana’i was pretty rough. As you can see by the photo we had to deal with wind, rain, lightening and a total solar eclipse.

While the fellas were golfing the ladies got the spa treatment at the Four Seasons on Lana’i.
The course we played is called The Challenge at Manele. It’s a Jack Nicklaus designed course with a strong finish. It winds up and down the island of Lana’i which sits just west of Maui. It’s part of the Four Seasons resort on the island.
Coincidentally, there’s a spa at the resort for the ladies to beautify themselves while the men are out hunting. Transportation to and from the island goes by ferry boat (people only, no cars) and you pretty much tell the folks at the other end where you’re going and they put you on the appropriate shuttle bus. Busing is included with anything you do so just be sure you’re doing something while you’re there. Cars on uncommon on the island, I think there are maybe five or six, so the shuttle or walking is the only way to go.
