With the thesis defense over, it was time to party. This day, having seen serious, professional Leslie as well as fun, hostess Leslie, capped off over a year of hard work.

We had the deck put in last year, but the landscaping is brand new. In this photo they aren’t even quite finished yet. The beds do a lot to incorporate the deck into the house. Hour and hours of painting took place to transform the great room into the great green room. The camera does not do the color justice at this time of day.

It is with heavy hearts that we wrap up our amazing football watching season with the Bears loss to the Colts in Super Bowl XLI.  We’re thankful for the extended run and are looking forward to next year when the Bears will hopefully face the Broncos in Super Bowl XLII.

We were far luckier than this family. Those two walls you see are all that’s left of their home. We too some photos of the neighborhood and a bunch of our house for the insurance folks. Fortunately we were not home for this one, we came home a couple days later after power had been restored to our neighborhood.

Welcome to Christmas. This is kind of our first home redecoration. We didn’t do too much for Halloween or Thanksgiving. We’re very pleased with the way things turned out. You’ll also find some pictures of my office here just for good measure.
